On August 18, Hon. Winston Chitando, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Mines and Mining Development, led a delegation to visit Huayou Cobalt’s headquarters. Chen Xuehua, Chairman of Huayou Cobalt, extended a warm welcome.

Recently, following a unanimous nomination and approval by the Global Battery Alliance (GBA) Board of Directors, Huayou Recycling was formally admitted to the Circularity & Critical Minerals Advisory Group (CCMAG)—a core working body of GBA. This milestone reaffirms Huayou Recycling’s internationally recognized leadership in driving sustainability across the global battery supply chain.

The “Huayou Dream-Building” Scholarship, part of the “Tongxiang Excellence in Education” initiative under Huayou Cobalt’s 50 million yuan Common Prosperity Fund, is a tailored program supporting top-performing Tongxiang students admitted to C9 League universities. In 2025, 37 outstanding students from Tongxiang—including three enrolled at Central South University—will each receive a 10,000 yuan scholarship to kickstart their academic journeys.

Recently, the Zhejiang Charity Federation announced its 2024 list of commended advanced members and special committees. Chen Xuehua, Chairman of Huayou Cobalt, was awarded the title of "2024 Outstanding Individual" by the Zhejiang Charity Federation. This honor not only recognizes his personal philanthropic contributions and leadership but also vividly embodies Huayou's corporate ethos of "rooted in China, connected globally."

On August 15th, Huayou Cobalt held the launch meeting for its "15th Five-Year" ESG Strategic Plan and an ESG special training session at the company headquarters. The meeting focused on the profound changes and challenges in global ESG policies, aiming to scientifically integrate ESG concepts into the company's core DNA. This initiative is designed to drive Huayou to seize opportunities amid global industrial restructuring and the evolution of economic globalization 2.0, positioning the company as a responsible benchmark in the new energy materials industry. President Chen Hongliang attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
