On August 24, H.E. Sigit Reliantoro, Director General of Sustainable Environment and Natural Resources Management at Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Bureau, led a delegation to visit Huayou Quzhou Base. Chen Xuehua, Chairman of Huayou Holding Group, jointly hosted the visit with Yang Jianqiang, Party Secretary and Chairman of CITIC Construction, and their teams. Representatives from all three parties held discussions centered on sustainable development and explored collaborative opportunities.

During the symposium, H.E. Sigit Reliantoro praised Huayou's visionary environmental strategy, highlighting its "green transformation of the entire industrial chain" that integrates eco-standards across process design, energy recycling, and end-stage governance. He lauded the company's Morowali and Weday industrial park projects—including mangrove restoration, desalination, and clean energy substitution—as global benchmarks for achieving "ecological-industrial synergy." These initiatives, validated by transparent data and third-party certifications, have established Huayou as a model for responsible investment by reducing carbon emissions and ecological footprints while earning community and capital market trust.

Emphasizing Indonesia's downstream industrialization policy, H.E. Sigit urged foreign enterprises to embed environmental compliance into project planning through local partnerships. He endorsed CITIC's proposed collaborations in waste-to-energy, affordable housing, and agricultural seed sectors, noting government support via regulatory streamlining and special permits for green projects.

Yang Jianqiang commended Huayou's pioneering role in leveraging advanced technologies for Indonesian resource development. As China's leading conglomerate, CITIC Group has deepened ties with Indonesia and proposed three cooperation pillars: deploying waste-to-energy expertise, addressing housing needs with overseas construction experience, and enhancing food security through agricultural innovation. CITIC Construction aims to replicate Huayou's success in Indonesia by participating in its investment projects.

Chen Xuehua welcomed the delegation, reaffirming Huayou's commitment to "harmonizing development with environmental protection." He endorsed CITIC's proposals, particularly waste-to-energy collaboration, and expressed eagerness to advance trilateral synergies.

Prior to discussions, the delegation toured Huayou's exhibition hall, green refining facilities, ternary cathode material production lines, and R&D center, commending the company's technological innovation and smart manufacturing capabilities.

Over seven years of Indonesian engagement, Huayou has aligned with Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum" strategy and the BRI by integrating its industrial base, green technologies, and global market reach with Indonesia's resource endowments. This has fostered a new energy lithium battery ecosystem while attracting global partners. Looking ahead, Huayou will expand investments in Indonesian new energy and materials sectors, transferring Chinese energy-saving solutions and deepening industry-wide collaboration to drive sustainable growth and bilateral prosperity.
